Lauren has grown with HVC since joining us in 2014 as a veterinary technician. Her varied background in veterinary medicine and environmental science brings a unique perspective to our practice. An El Paso native, Lauren’s compassion for animals is what drew her to begin working in veterinary medicine during her college years. Despite receiving a BS in Environmental Science from Baylor University , she continues to follow her true calling and has been in the industry since 2007.
She lives in the Heights with her husband, who is involved in human healthcare. Her children Juliette, Toshio, Pirate, Lambert, and Petrie Rye (the kitties), Chowder & Miso (the shih tzus), Fern the ball python, and Cinderella the red-eared slider keep her on her toes and inspire her. Lauren’s passions include helping pet parents build trust and deepening communication with their furkids in order to ensure their longest and happiest lives, as well as promoting a work place culture that values diversity, integrity, inclusion, and balance. In her free time, she enjoys nature, reading, writing, running, and aerial yoga.
Lauren is Fear Free Certified, Human Animal Bond Certified, and soon to be a certified Cat Friendly Veterinary Professional.
