Dr. Lisa L. Piña

Veterinarian

Dr. Lisa L. Piña is proud to call herself a native Houstonian. Raised in Oak Forest, she then moved with her family to Sugar Land, Texas. She earned her B.A. in Mathematics and Philosophy from the University of Saint Thomas. She graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010 (whoop!). She has had the fortunate opportunity to be part of the Heights Veterinary Clinic Team for 8 years. She enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Medicine, with focuses in preventative care, dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine and surgery. Dr. Pina takes great joy in meeting kittens and puppies during their first visit as all of her four-legged children (Marlena, Scrappy Coco, Stella Hotsauce, and Raylan Givens) are full grown. Dr. Pina and her husband have one son, Xavier Major, whom they affectionately call Chuy. You may occasionally see Chuy in the lobby trying to sneak a quick visit with Dr. Mom after school or to greet your family pet. Dr. Pina and her family reside in the GO/OF neighborhood; work, home and play are very close to each other so be sure to say hi to them. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, fishing, chasing her children, and experiencing the ever-changing Houston Heights area.

Dr. Morgan Menzie

Veterinarian

Dr. Morgan Menzie has lived all over the United States including California, Alaska, and Ohio, but considers Texas to be her home. She attended middle school and high school in Katy, Texas where her parents still reside. In 2011, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from The Ohio State University where she swam competitively for 4 years. In 2015, she graduated from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and worked in the Memorial area of Houston before coming to join Heights Veterinary Clinic in 2017. Although she enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine, Dr. Menzie has a special interest in dentistry, dermatology, and internal medicine. Additionally, as the owner of two rambunctious felines (Daenerys and Leviathan), she is incredibly passionate about our kitty friends and their health. In her free time, Dr. Menzie volunteers at her church, Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, and is a member of the sanctuary choir there. She also enjoys attending Houston Symphony concerts, reading, watching sports, antique shopping, and traveling.

Dr. Annamarie Albritton

Veterinarian

Dr. Annamarie Albritton was born in Houston then moved to Dallas at a young age. In December of 2017 she moved back to Houston. She earned her Bachelor of Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University and graduated from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary medicine in 2015. She joined Heights Veterinary Clinic in December 2017 after working in Emergency Medicine for several years. She enjoys surgery, internal medicine, behavior medicine, and (of course) emergency medicine. Labradors are her favorite breed so she may spend a little extra time loving on them (young or old) when they come in. She has one four-legged child, Sofia, who appreciates being the center of attention whenever possible. In her spare time she enjoys baking, traveling, exploring local Houston parks, and debating the latest Marvel/Star Wars movie.

Dr. Kenneth H. Williams

Emeritus

Dr. Kenneth H. Williams, former owner and Medical Director of Heights Veterinary Clinic is a 1971 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University. Immediately after graduation, Dr. Williams served 2½ years in the military before coming to work at Heights Veterinary Clinic in March of 1974. He purchased the clinic in January of 1975 and has guided the clinic’s growth since that time. Dr. Williams is a native of the Heights and possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of the area. He has even been known to conduct tours of historic Heights landmarks on weekends (for a nominal fee).

Dr. Williams retired in 2013. Although he retired physically, his legacy of HVC lives on. Our practice was built on the strong foundation of medicine and family which has continued on just as Dr. Williams left it. He now enjoys his full-time job as Grandpa.

Lauren joined HVC in 2014. She was quickly recognized for strong leadership skills and attention to patient care. Lauren was promoted to Lead Technician in 2016 and later promoted again in 2017 to Office Assistant Manager. Lauren’s compassion for animals is what drew her to begin working in veterinary medicine during her college years, and despite receiving a BS in Environmental Science from Baylor University, she continues to follow her true calling. She has been in the industry since 2007. She is a Fear Free Certified Professional and is also certified in the Human-Animal Bond.

Lauren has been a resident of Houston since 2011 and lives in the Heights with her better half and their furkids: Chowder the Shih Tzu, their six cats; Lambert, Gizmo, Pirate, Toshio, Juliette, and Tuxedo Mask, Ferngully the snake, and Cinderella their turtle. When she is not at work Lauren enjoys snuggling with her pets, reading, going to the gym, and relaxing with family.

Joni has worked at Heights Veterinary Clinic since September of 2002. She is HVC’s technician team leader. She has been a technician for over 30 years and is a dental procedure guru. She also has two four-legged children named Clover and Madison.

Larry

Veterinary Technician

Larry has been with us since June 2001. He started working in the kennel, caring for the animals and then moved to assisting the doctors as a veterinary technician. He was born and raised in the Heights area. He owns one dog, Wilbur, a very unique looking Corgi / Pitbull mix, and is a proud father of 2 girls, Ava and Vivian. He is probably the biggest Rockets fan you will ever meet, and is still strangely obsessed with the Ninja Turtles.

Cassie

Veterinary Technician

Cassie started with HVC in 2016 after completing her externship here and graduating from the Vet Tech Institute of Houston with a Veterinary Technician Associates. Victoria

She plans to continue her education in this field and one day obtain her LVT License.

Kassandra

Veterinary Technician

Kassandra is a recent graduate from the Vet Tech Institute of Houston with a Veterinary Technician Associates. She plans to take the Veterinary Technician National Exam by the end of 2018 and be able to add a Licensed Veterinary Technician to her credentials. She joined our hospital at the beginning of 2018 with previous experience working as a kennel attendant. From day one she made it known that she wanted to learn, see, and do as much as possible so that she could advance her technical skills. It has been exciting to watch her grow in her career here at HVC and we can’t wait until the day that we can hand her LVT License on our walls.

Liz

Client Service Representative

Liz joined us in 2018 with several years of veterinary client service experience under her belt. She has quickly adapted to our high volume and fast-paced work environment with her exceptional critical thinking and communication skills. Liz enjoys interacting with our clients and working compassionately with them in various emotional states.

Margarita

Animal Care Attendant

Margarita has been with our clinic since 2000. She is the Kennel Supervisor, which entails bathing and taking care of your pets while they are boarding. She has had more than 20 years of experience working with animals.

Jessica

Animal Care Attendant

Jessica joined our team in 2018 with no previous kennel assistant experience, but eager to learn as much as possible as quickly as possible. The misconception that Jessica is shy and quiet is due to her superb work ethic. She is sure to be found cleaning, bathing, assisting others, or attending to a boarding patient when she is at HVC. Jessica works multiple jobs and still manages to come into HVC ready to be a team player and help in any way she can.
